My Window, Tehran

Scroll

“My Window, Tehran” is a personal and introspective series created between 2014 and 2017, during a period of intense engagement with the urban landscape of Tehran. Living in a house with a terrace overlooking the city, I used my camera as a conduit for translating emotional states into visual forms.

Each photograph represents a moment of convergence between external observation and internal reflection, capturing the interplay of light, shadow, and atmosphere as they resonated with my own experiences and perceptions.

The series is not intended as a comprehensive portrait of Tehran, but rather as a fragmented and subjective account of my relationship with the city during a specific period of my life.

The images are characterized by a quiet intensity, a focus on subtle details, and an attempt to capture the poetry of everyday moments. This project reflects a broader interest in the ways in which personal narratives intersect with the built environment, and the potential of photography to express the ineffable qualities of lived experience.
